41 years of experience in developing controls for NC machine tools, 35 years at Bridgeport Machines. Architect of Bridgeport’s BOSS microprocessor based NC controls in 1978 and Bridgeport’s PC NC controls in 1988.

VP and General Manager, Computerized Manufacturing Systems 1986– 1999. Management responsibility for all aspects of controls development including preparation of 5 year plan, budgeting, P&L analysis, supervision of 50 technical and production employees, project scheduling, and purchasing. Responsible for keeping current with the state of controls technology. Participated in TEAM (Technologies Enabling Agile Manufacturing) and OMAC meetings. Wrote ATP proposals to get government funding of several high risk technology projects. Also wrote GUI software for EZTRAK PC NC controllers in C.

Technical Director of the OASYS Open Architecture Controller Project consortium 1995. The OASYS group was awarded an Air Force contract to develop an architecture for open NC controllers. The project involved forging a group of diverse companies involved with machine tool controllers into a peer to peer relationship such that the team could develop the next generation open architecture control. The OASYS group consisted of controller builders, third party developers, sensor vendors, and users. Wrote the Technical section of the bid proposal.

Manager of Development. 1980-1986. Responsible for proposing and implementing controls related development projects and staffing the development group. Three of the projects became very successful- including the 68K Microprocessor based machine controller, and the EZCAM computer assisted machining software. A group developing motor controls split off from Bridgeport and became Performance Controls. Also wrote parser for 68K controller in assembly language.


EZ-DRAFT Product Manager. 1985
. Participated in Apple Macintosh Roll Out Tour. Set-up and staffed booths for all events, gave product demonstrations, set up nationwide distribution network. As EZCAM General Manager worked in conjunction with Autodesk’s ATC program to enable local schools through-out the country to provide hands-on, instructor led training.


Development Engineer. 1963-1980. Developed hardwired NC controllers. Designed PC mounted TTL logic and all system electrics. Developed the LSI-11 based NC controller. Wrote all system software in assembler and designed all LSI-11 interface boards.


BSME Drexel 1958. Textron Executive Management Summer Course at Harvard Business School, 1981. Holder of 6 controller related patents. Programmed using Visual Basic, Visual C++, 68K assembler, HTML, Microsoft Office-Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Access/Project.

Marriage Encounter administrative couple. Participated in over 30 marriage enhancement weekends together with my wife as presenting couple. Like travel, outdoor sports and cooking. Hiked coast to coast in England, did llama backpacking in the Tetons, backpacked Canyon deChelly, canoed 100 miles of the Allagash River in Maine and rafted the Grand Canyon ,the Oceah, the Nogiluchy, the Arkansas and Gallatin rivers. Toured Tuscany, Andalucia. Torremolinos. Cruised around South America, Buenos Aires to Valparaiso; through the Panama Canal; the Mediterranean Barcelona to Istanbul; London to Lisbon; Alaska. Have been in 49 of the 50 states. Drove cross country coast to coast 7 times. (once in 52 hours)
